Description
Maddy Craft 2.10

Updated for compatibility with GU3.2

Just removed all the presets until the corresponding UI's are fixed. This update includes the fixe to the toolbelt-problem!

Highlights:
  • Refining-Start: Mother's faboulus Quick Recipe Bar integrated. Define up to 50 Recipe-Shortcuts here! For further instructions how to do that look at Mothers descriptions please!
  • Refining-Start: Nadgers missing items integrated in Recipe-Details page.
  • Table-Setup: Useable Item List redone to show more items at once.
  • Table-Setup: Switch to Text-Only-Mode to see even more items!
  • Table-Setup: You can place 12 Text-Macros with /refineadditem "xxx" entries now.
  • Craft-Window: Redone for a more compact look.
  • Craft-Window: Catalyst protection based on Mothers idea and using Nadgers look integrated.
  • Craft-Window: The original Sweetcraft-Skillwindow returned! Use the small "Skill"-Button at the upper left corner to adjust your skills on the fly. Additionally to your current skills you can see the base-values directly.
  • Craft-Window: Ever wondered what grade was required for the actual recipe during processing? Press the small "Detail"-Button to have a look at the details of the current recipe.

Idea behind it:
It's based on the good old Sweetcraft UI from Sweetwheat, which is not to be found on this site and not maintained since March 07. I loved his UI so I took it over and modified it to meet my needs. It was desinged to minimize Mouse-Action during the crafting process. And here's the result.

Features:
  • Table Inventory to the left, top to bottom filling and expanding as needed
  • Table setup rearranged and including an area for 8 Macro-Buttons. Here you can put any /refineadditem "xxx" - Macros you need.
  • Actual crafting status at the top of the window, with all relevant information. This uses some modified graphics from Xyndyr's myUI 2.0, which I used during development.
  • Cancel Button at the top-right (the "X"), out of the way of the whole crafting action.
  • One-click-toobelt
  • Crafting-Macro-Buttons based on the so called "Single Action, One Click Step and Action Method" described at the VanguardCrafters-Forum. These are marked "1" to "6" corresponding to the Action of the "active step". The "active step" is the left-most of the available Action-Steps. Recipes with up to 9 Action-Steps are working with these buttons. You need to use the default Crafting-Buttons for steps above nine.
  • "The Finisher" - Button, based on the "Single Action Final Step Macro", found at the same source as above. This button can be used during the last finishing Action-Step. Based on the AP left it activates the best step (with most quality in return) for the Finisher. Again if the Recipe has more than nine steps, this button doesn't work.
  • Complications and Remedies, all in a row at the bottom of the Window as needed.
  • Removed most texts so this one is probably not for crafting beginners!

Installation
Basically it's not meant to be a standalone UI-Mod, although it could be used this way. This Modification can be integrated in most, if not all Custom UIs. Included in the download are Presets for most actual Custom-UIs. Use these at your own risk! I have not tested all of them enough, but they should work. Make a backup of the original files before trying out! If you use a preset, just copy the directories and files into your Mod-Directory (for CoreUI3 you have to copy the content of the Index-file into your Index.xml ! )

To include in a custom Mod follow these step:
  1. Download and unpack the ZIP-File
  2. Copy the contents of the included "Textures"- and "Windows"-Folder into the corresponding Folder of the custum UI.
  3. Open the "SkinInfo.xml" of your custom-UI (with NotePad or some any other editor) and include these lines:

    <AnimationDefinitions directory="Textures">
    <AnimationDefinition filename="MaddyParts.xml"/>
    </AnimationDefinitions>



    Please take the included "SkinInfo.xml"-File as an example. Save the file.
  4. Open the "Index.xml"-File of your custom-UI (with NotePad or some any other editor) and search for the section
  5. Find the following lines and comment them out as needed or even delete them:

    ...
    <Window filename="VGUICrafting.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingActions.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingCatalyst.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingComplications.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingInventory.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingRemedies.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingToolbelts.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingWorkbench.xml"/>
    <Window filename="VGUICraftingWorkbenchFilling.xml"/>
    ...
    <Window filename="VGUIRefiningStart.xml"/>

  6. Search for any other "VGUICrafting...xml" and "VGUIRefiningStart.xml" entries within the file, probably from other Crafting-Mods included in your custom-UI and comment them out or delete them.
  7. Add the following lines to the "Index.xml"-File:

    <GameplayWindows directory="Windows">
    <Window filename="Maddy_Crafting.xml"/>
    <Window filename="Maddy_CraftingRecipeDetails.xml"/>
    <Window filename="Maddy_CraftingSkills.xml"/>
    <Window filename="Maddy_RefiningStart.xml"/>
    <Window filename="Maddy_TableSetup.xml"/>
    </GameplayWindows>


    Again please take the included "Index.xml" as an example.
  8. Save the file and launch Vanguard!

Working with GU4??

Hiya Maddy,
Ive been using your mod for a long while now and usually have no problem setting back up after drox updates his UI.

This time though im having problems getting anything to pop up when I click the workbench. Closest I got was some of the words on screen but without the windows. Funnily enough the panels were missing on the left on char select usually behing my toon names..

Is this updated for GU4??

Switching Toolbelts

Thanks for this amazing crafting interface ! I didn't like the Core crafting interface, so i downloaded MaddyCraft and now i'm really happy with it.

I just stumbled across a small problem. After installing, there were no toolbelt buttons and i wasn't able to switch belts. Decided to compare Maddy_Crafting.xml with others and changed all occurences of "_slot_CRA_WAIST#" with "_waist_slot_CRA_WAIST#" (# is number 1 to 3). Now it works perfectly.

Perhaps this might help somebody.

Progress/Qual bar

I just patched in Maddy to Darker2.0 and am having trouble convincing the Progress and Quality bars to show themselves during crafting. I see everything else wonderfully and am very impressed with this crafting mod.

Any suggestions? Is there any information I can provide to help figure out what's wrong? (I'm still pretty new at tinkering with UImods)

I think I found a fix for it, in MaddyRefiningStart.xml change the following:

Is anyone else having a problem with closing the crafting setup window in GU4?

The cancel button event doesn't seem to be firing right. The begin button seems to work fine though.

Also seems to be happening in the table setup screen.

Yes you are right, if you use the action buttons, you have to move the mouse a bit more in this mod. Use the Buttons with the numbers instead. They will select and activate the actions in one step in left to right order. That way you will definately shorten your mouse-moves.

Nadger renamed the "Windows"-Folder to "Xml" in his UI. Copy the files into this directory and change <GameplayWindows directory="Windows"> to <GameplayWindows directory="Xml"> in the description above.

I apologize for what I suspect is a stupid question but...

I am new to the use of custom UI's. I downloaded and got CoreUI3 to work with my Vanguard client. I also got the MaddyCraft standalone to work as well.

However, when I read the instructions for the MaddyCraft add-on I see instructions to copy the files into the Custom UI directory. I see a "textures" folder in CoreUI3 (and Default) but no "windows" folder in the CoreUI3 directory.

What blindingly obvious thing am I missing?

Possibility to center action buttons?

Is it somehow possible to center the action buttons? Right now these are left aligned (at least for me) which increases mouse-movement considerably.

I would suggest you send your actual "Index.xml" to maik@kaemm.de. I will read through it and cantact you back that way.

Yes you are completely right here, thats the way to comment out lines in xml.

Make sure you first reactivate the default Crafting Window with the core-options offline-tool. Then you should see all the default lines activated again. Comment them out again as mentioned above.

You can place the lines directly in the CoreUI GamplayWindows-section, that should be no problem. Its better to place the Maddy-Lines into their own section because its more readable that way but there is no functional difference. If you use an own section as shown in your quotation, change the directory-entry form "Windows" to "Xml" and place all the Maddy-Files into the Xml-Directory.

I am using drox 2.4. I have removed the specified lines and have added the others that were specified here is what I am seeing:

Problems installing

I've heard a lot of good things about this crafting mod from guildies and I have been trying to install it. Let me preface this by saying I have no experience with xml editing etc but feel I can pick up on stuff like this fairly rapidly.

I installed, as far as I can tell, as per instructions but when I entered back into vanguard, nothing seemed to have changed.

I am using CoreUI3 (dec 14 update) and I did go into the index.xml and edited it as per instructions, again as far as I could tell. I am assuming that to "comment out" something in an xml file, all I need to do is put "<!--" at the beginning of what I want to comment out and "-->" at the end of the commented section.

I am pretty sure I have meticulously gone through and commented out the things you said to comment out (virtually all of which seemed to have already been commented out in CoreUI3 to begin with). The only thing I am unsure of is the section that said to add in:

Hello Aradin,

lets see if we can find the problem. It seems to be only related to your Index.xml, because everything else (graphics, other windows) seems to work, right? So all you need to do is to check your Index.xml again:

Drox has changed the normal Refiningstart-Window to the so-called ExpandedRefiningStart you already mentioned. So the line

<!-- Window filename="VGUIRefiningStart.xml"/ -->
is already commented out, no need to change this.
Instead in the category
Code:
<GameplayWindows directory="Windows">
with all the "Drox_xxx" entries you need to find the line:
Code:
<Window filename="ExpandedRefiningStart.xml"/>
and change this to:
Code:
<!-- Window filename="ExpandedRefiningStart.xml"/ -->
That should solve your problem, If you already did this, please recheck if you did everything correctly, maybe you missed a Charakter or two.
