Best of Both Worlds. Dark Steel is a basic custom UI made from the remnants of DarkerBoxed, with a bit of Darker2.0 and DarkScrolls thrown in. Same information as DarkScrolls and Darker2.0.. just updated and new grapahic style. ( will add more in here later.. must get it up before I get linched!)

What this Custom UI does- Removed the dependency for most adjoining windows. More separate windows to move where you want them.
- Separate Player stats from the Defensive Target for easy layout of your choice.
- Changes default size of all bags, inventory, banks and more.
- Changed the default font size for pop up / mouseover windows. (For what the server will allow)
- Adds in the drop in box for the Market Exchange Broker.
- Removes the "extras" from the ui such as added graphics in the player stat window, group
- window and offensive window.
- Adds in the option for a horizontal group window.
- Consists of 6 horizontal Hotbars and 2 vertical.
- Adds in the HUD interface to choose your options you would like to have displayed in game.
- ie: Combat, Stats, clock and more!
- Adds in a Healer Helper hotbar for heal and buffs abilities.
-Double click HealerHelper Member names to view their buffs
- Smaller and more abilities on each page.
- Quest window adjusted to fit more quests in visible line.
- Quest listings include Level and sphere
- Ability to organize your quests by Level and Sphere.
- Display of 36 parlay cards per page.
- Smaller Parlay table
- Updated XML to current for Vanguard.
Extras: To replace any of the windows, 1) Open the folder with the name you wish to replace the windows
2) Copy all files in that folder
3) Open the Windows folder
4) Paist and replace the files
Example:
You want the default Quest log as seem in the Default UI
You will do the following:1) Open up the folder named "Extras"
2) Go into the folder named "DefaultQuestWindows"
3) Copy all files in that folder
4) Go back to the folder named "Windows"
5) Paste the files (replace the ones currently in the "Windows" folder
That is it. Do this for what ever files you would like to change.
There are Four files you can change around:1: Quest Window (book)
Quest Window (Darker2.0 style)
2: Guild Social Window (Default UI)
Guild Social Window (Darker style)
3: Bag Size (Default UI size)
Bag Size (Darker Size)
4: Market Windows (Default UI- With LG)
Market windows (Without LG)

One thing I would like to ask everyone here.. I do not mind personal emails sent asking questions, giving suggestions or ideas.
The only thing I do ask is if that if you send me an email, please make sure that your email you used (or listed here as a return email) is valid. If it is not, I cannot respond.
Since I am under a deadline right now for work, I do not have much time to work on the ui itself, therefor unable to track down every person that sends me an email because the one they listed is invalid. And that makes me sad when I cannot respond to some good ideas, suggestions or problems.

Okay, for those that let me know about the Property window for the upkeep amount...
I have changed the colour from white to red to purple.. and for some reasion it keeps going back to black. I am not sure if anyone here has any idea on why this is happening now.
If you do a /reloadui you will see the text o to red. I will be trying again later on and find out if i can see what is really wrong.
Any ideas or thoughts im MORE then open to

Great UI
I loved Darker UI, loved DarkScrolls UI even more (although it lacked an Assemble all feature for the crafting tab).
DarkSteel UI is awesome though!
My only issues with DarkSteel is that
1. Most of the UI is really dark which is good; however, with the top of the border of the bars (as well as text) being a bright white color, it makes it really really bright  & it'd probley be hard on some players eyes and hard to adjust to DartkSteel. (a darker color or a black or silver color could fix this problem easily)
and more importantley
2.the pet command bar (with attack, follow, stop, assist, guard etc) does not seem to be movable at all, not even in /layoutmode which is really important for pet-dependent classes
other than these two things, DarkSteel is perfect

Okay, im semi back again hehe.. i have i think a day or two off from working (at least for the most part). So I will be looking into these issues. I am looking at a few of them right now and will see what I can do.
In regards to the house/hall rent font colour... I am at a complete loss still. I am going to see about possibly changing the background just a wee bit for that section graphically. If the mountain wont come to me.. ill go to the mountain hehe.
Pet bar... Ugh, again? I thought I had fixed that one already. I will take a look at that one tonight.. that can be a real bugger to have something like that sticking in the way.
Bar colour... what do you mean exactly? Where abouts? on the hotbars, the top of the windows where you have the close and minimize buttons? if it helps, post up a snippet of a screen shot showing me what you mean and i can see about adjusting the colour a wee bit.
(I think I did finaly fix the assemble all in darkscrolls.. i will double check though and make sure!)

okay, here is the file for the new pet window. I found what i missed. I forgot to add in the command for the border. If you find anything else, please let me know!
Im still working on the darned housing rent issue though. I have not forgotten. It is a wee bit too dark to see/read! Yet, somehow i will get that looking just right!

I just switched to dark steel and I liked it so much I recommended it to a friend too. But for some reason my counterspell window shows up, but his doesn't show up at all.
When I hit the button to hide my counterspell window it doesn't work and when he hits the button to show the counterspell button it doesn't work, very odd. We've tried a few things, but I don't know what to do to help him any more.
If you know another way to activate the button, I'd really appreciate it.
Also a smaller inconvenience with the rift map, for some reason I have 2 riftmaps, the standard riftmap and the infomap riftmap and they don't close, so if I click the riftcrystal one of the two shows up and when I click it again, the other one shows up. When I click a destination, the riftmap will stay up. One riftmap also doesn't have KDQ location on it, but the other does.
If you know anything to fix that too, I would really love to know. Thanks for the hard work, it's a very nice and clean UI and I love it.

Nice, mod. I've been using this one the most, and really like it. I did manually install InfoMaps v2.1, to get that update.
I just have one small request, could you add soresha's minicards? I just came back to the game and would rather spend time playing than xml hacking!  The included cards and parley window look good. The only think I from trying the minicards mod is the speak/listen/complete/library buttons on the stategy window, and the full-view library.

Trinix: I will look into the double rift maps.. not sure why that would be happening. So give me a few days and I will see what is up with that and should have a fix for you soon.
The counter spells... "But for some reason my counterspell window shows up, but his doesn't show up at all. " ... Silly as it may seem.. try saving your layout as /uisave test and send that to your friend.. then have him drop it in his bin and type in /uiload test and see if that will work. It may be as simple as it being "off" the screen. I have seen this happen befor on a few odd windows when someone would go from one ui to another. (or change resolutions as well). See if that helps.
Secakitten: I am sorry, but at this time I will not add in soresha's minicards. Im not trying to be mean, however I have about the same thing in all of my ui's which i have put in and worked on since beta.
However, there are a few things that I do not have as separate windows that I can see about adding in later on. The main would be perhaps the factions and presence windows. The main thing is i like to keep the ui as simple and clean as I can. The more windows you put in the ui, the more it will cause some latency. My main purpose to this ui is Clean, Small, Modular and Efficiant. I will see what I can do in the future when I have time. Please do realise that I also work and this is a very busy time for me right now.

Thanks for looking into it. The maps get a bit annoying, but it's not a big problem so do it when you have time.
The counterspell window I don't know. I send him my uisave, but it didn't seem to work. If you have any other ideas, I'd like to try them out.
