Default UI Graphic Enchancement Concept

Well, I've always rather disliked both the default UI graphics and most if not all of the graphical mods made by the community.

So here's my initial mockup of what might become a full fledged mod, someday.

Now I realise that some (if not a lot) of what I've illustrated with this image might be impossible given the limitations of the VG UI system. Though since I'm not yet at all familiar with the detailed workings of the XML behind the UI nor it's limitations regarding graphical display.

So please, let me know what you think and how possible it might be to use specific elements of the design such as shadowing on text (non image based text).

I can't be sure but I seem to remember that you could shadow text although if I remember it looked bad. Everything else in your mockup looks doable since a lot of it looks to be pieces of other UIs.

The only parts of the screenshot that I have worked on are the character window, abilities window and bags.

The rest of it is just a random screen from my game folder that I used to illustrate how it might look in-game amoungst other UI elements.

There's a lot more to do in terms of the mock-up, I'm building and organising it in Photoshop in a way that should make chopping it all up and into TGAs for the game to use, a bit easier.

I will be updating with images of all other windows as I work through them. Though some will be left out since the basic frame graphics have been shown. I'm particulary eager to start on unit frames, hotbar, minimap and other original features.

Well my sub has run out for the time being so I likely won't be working any further on my project until I upgrade my PC and re-sub.
